Momo Ayase Figure - Dandadan

This latest project of Momo Ayase from the Dandadan series created new challenges and ideas for me as a 3D artist. At first, I wanted to try using ZBrush's dynamic gravity simulation, but I quickly realized that it would take away from the look of the original piece that I'm referencing.
I started by creating the pose using Character Creator 4's AccuRig and decided to sculpt the dress shirt next. As I neared completion of this project, I thought it'd be cool to show the figure as a bookend with the currently released manga volumes. I recreated the manga books in 3D, which proved to be challenging as I had to make sure I recreated the look and feel of the physical book when rendered in 3D. Using both Marmoset Toolbag 4 and Adobe Substance 3D Stager helped me broaden my scope of UV usage, file types, and how to bake textures.

I used UVs to create the manga volumes in Adobe Substance 3D Stager.

I thought of splitting the hand in two to make for better weight distribution and assembly. But if it were printed as one whole piece in clear resin, I think it would look more consistent.
