This was a fun and challenging project that pushed my skills in unexpected ways. I started with a clear plan, beginning with draft modeling and retopology before moving on to UVs. Since textures wouldn't deform properly during rigging, I posed Emi first and textured her afterward. As the project evolved, I decided to create a base inspired by the containment case from Ultraman Rising, which added another layer of detail. This project helped me refine my time management and problem-solving skills. The rendering process in Marmoset Toolbag 5 was especially fun, as it allowed me to capture a look that closely matches the feel of the movie.
The containment model for Emi was fun to create. I used all square topology, except for the glass. Once I put the wings on Emi, the wingspan would be too large for the containment.
Turntable of the various expressions for this Emi 3D model. The first one is a simple smile, the second is a similar but more expressive smile, and the third is inspired by one of the grins she gives in the movie.
